POTTSVILLE – The Bears roll on.
Now at 26-0, Mahanoy Area defeated Tri-Valley 64-49 in the District XI 2A semifinal Wednesday night at Martz Hall.
The game was uncharacteristically close for the first stanza, with the Bears trailing 10-2 midway through the first and 14-11 at the end of the quarter.

The two squads continued to exchange scores — and the lead — through the second quarter.
Though, the second half was all Mahanoy.

The Bears opened up a lead and kept it for the rest of the game, eventually taking the 64-49 victory over the Bulldogs.
Mahanoy moves on to the District XI 2A title game Saturday at 2:30pm against a familiar foe, Marian Catholic. The game will be held at Martz Hall.
