HS BASEBALL: Devils fall to division-leading Hurricanes

SHENANDOAH – A big win Monday put Shenandoah Valley in position to capitalize and contend for the Schuylkill League Division II lead Tuesday, but Schuylkill Haven wasn’t going to budge.

Schuylkill Haven entered the game at Marty DeLuca Memorial Field undefeated in Division II play, while Shenandoah had one loss in the division.

The Hurricanes controlled the game, taking a two-run lead after the first inning and added four in the second.

With seven hits, Schuylkill Haven won 10-1. Shenandoah mustered three hits and had five errors.

Brandon Boris, Brayden Maksimik, and Landon Monaghan all had hits. Jeremy Thomas scored Shenandoah’s lone run off a Boris hit.

Shenandoah is now 7-4 overall and will host Weatherly Thursday at Marty DeLuca Field.
