Home destroyed by fire in Mount Carmel
KAYLEE LINDENMUTH / SHENANDOAH SENTINEL - Smoke can be seen rising from a home in the 100 block of West 7th Street in Mount Carmel on July 13, 2024.
MOUNT CARMEL – Flames dealt heavy damage to at least two buildings in this Northumberland County borough early Saturday morning.
Crews were called to the 100 block of West 7th Street in the borough around 2am.
Heavy fire could be seen coming from a home at 137 West 7th Street and an adjoining one story building as firefighters arrived.
Among the crews responding were from Mount Carmel, Ashland, Shamokin, and Mahanoy City.
No injuries have been reported as of the time of publication.
A State Police fire marshal has been called in to investigate.
