‘HEINOUS, UNFATHOMABLE CONDUCT:’ Shenandoah man accused of sexually abusing 9-month-old

SHENANDOAH – A Shenandoah man is in Schuylkill County Prison, accused of what Pennsylvania’s Attorney General called “heinous, unfathomable conduct” involving a baby.

Jalvi DeJesus Nunez, 19, of Shenandoah, was arrested and charged Thursday with sexual abuse of children, possession of sexual abuse material, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent assault, and related offenses.

Borough police contacted the Attorney General’s office after they had received a call from a witness who said they saw a video of Nunez in lewd contact with a 9-month-old child.

“This is heinous, unfathomable conduct that has no place in civilized society,” Attorney General Dave Sunday said. “I commend our Child Predator Section for — in a matter of hours — acting with urgency to get this offender off the street, so he can do no further harm to this innocent child. There is no one more vulnerable than an infant, and we will work to hold this defendant fully accountable for truly vile behavior.”

Nunez was arraigned and committed to Schuylkill County Prison, unable to post $100,000 bail.
