Heights Hill crash injures Ringtown teen
SHENANDOAH HEIGHTS – A two-vehicle crash injured a 19-year-old from Ringtown Friday morning atop the Heights Hill near this West Mahanoy Township village.
The crash happened around 8:00am Friday morning at the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Ringtown Boulevard (Route 924).
State Police at Frackville released this morning that an 2010 Audi A4 was stopped at the stop sign leaving Shenandoah Heights as a 2003 Jeep Liberty was headed south on Ringtown Boulevard towards Shenandoah borough.
The Audi, driven by 30-year-old Andrew Lencoski of Shenandoah, proceeded into the intersection without clearance, troopers said, to head north on Route 924.
The Jeep, driven by 23-year-old Rubel Cruz, of Shenandoah, struck the Audi’s driver’s side door and front fender.
Both vehicles came to a rest on the southbound shoulder of Route 924.
Neither driver was injured, though 19-year-old Damien Deihm, of Ringtown, a passenger in the Jeep, suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
A rear passenger in the Jeep, a 17-year-old teen from Ringtown, was uninjured.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Steve’s Towing.
Responding to the scene along with State Police was Shenandoah Ambulance and Shenandoah Heights Fire.
Both drivers will be cited for traffic violations, Lencoski for a stop sign violation and Cruz for driving without a license.
