HAZLETON – Hazleton Area’s JROTC program’s Leadership Team and Academic Team is moving on to Round 2 of the National Leadership and Academic Bowl.

It’s the second year the program has competed in the national competition.

“We could not be more proud of our JROTC cadets and their instructors,” said Dr. Brian T. Uplinger, Superintendent of Schools, Hazleton Area School District. “To have both the Leadership and Academic Teams advance in only our second year of participation is an extraordinary accomplishment. Their dedication, discipline, and commitment to excellence truly embody the spirit of our school district. We look forward to cheering them on as they compete in Round 2.”

Round 2 will take place Feb. 5 and 6. The top performing teams in each brigade move on to the championship round at Catholic University in Washington D.C. in June.
