FRACKVILLE – Girls’ Softball in our area has returned, and one local team is still awaiting their jerseys, which gave them the opportunity to recognize a football player on the road to recovery.

The Frackville Fury 10-and-under girls’ softball team squared off against Shenandoah’s American Legion squad today at the field on the north end of town.

Each player wore the #6 — wearing the Prayers for Jaden shirts sold in a fundraiser a few months ago — honoring the 2020 North Schuylkill grad Jaden Leiby, who was injured in the final regular season game of the Spartans’ 2020 football campaign.

Coaches and players both wore the shirts, as the team awaits the arrival of their jerseys for their 2020 campaign.
