Girardville woman identified as victim of Ryan Township crash

EAST MAHANOY JCT. – State troopers have identified the victim in a Ryan Township crash last week as a Girardville woman.
Troopers said Peyton Velez, 24, of Girardville, was driving a 2024 Hyundai on State Road in Ryan Township when she left the roadway in a left-hand corner and hit a tree.
This happened around 4am July 16.
Velez was seriously injured, troopers said, and had used her seatbelt “improperly” according to a media release.
She was flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest near Allentown.
