Garage fire under investigation in Ashland
ASHLAND – A garage burned to the beams here late Tuesday night and multiple nearby buildings were damaged.
The fire broke out just after 10pm at 16th and Middle Streets in the borough.
Ashland Fire Chief Phil Groody told the Sentinel they found the garage fully involved when crews arrived, and the radiant heat caused damage to homes at 16 South 16th and 1607 Walnut Street, as well as a Toyota pickup truck parked on 16th street.
Crews brought the fire under control quickly, though the garage was destroyed.
A second alarm was struck but cancelled shortly after.
No injuries were reported, and Groody said the fire remains under investigation.
