SHENANDOAH – A 19-year-old from Frackville was cited and his passenger was taken to a local hospital after a crash at Main and Washington Streets over the weekend.

The crash happened around 6pm Saturday.

State Police at Frackville said Anthony Heffner, 19, of Frackville, was headed north on Main Street in a 2012 Nissan Sentra.

Troopers said he tried to turn left onto Washington Street as a 2018 Kia Forte, driven by a 17-year-old from Shenandoah, had come down the Heights Hill and entered the intersction.

The two vehicles collided and both were disabled.

Heffner was not hurt, but Katherine Espada, 33, of Reading — a passenger in Heffner’s car — was taken to a Pottsville hospital. Two other passengers — Akiralynn Heffner, 18, of Frackville, and a 14-year-old boy from Frackville — were not injured.

The occupants of the Kia — all Shenandoah boys ages 17, 14, 16, 15, and 17 — were not injured.
