Frackville swears in full-time police officer

FRACKVILLE – Frackville’s police force added a full-time officer at Thursday’s borough council meeting.

Tyler Wall was sworn-in as a full-time officer by Mayor John Morgan. He had served as a part-time officer for the past few months.

The borough is still looking for more full-time and part-time officers and approved a motion to advertise for such.

Also related to police, borough council voted to move forward with the ICE 287(g) task force model agreement debated last month.

In other business, the borough is seeking grants to develop a pickleball court at Frackville Memorial Park. They are seeking $234,650 in grant funding.

Council also approved hiring Jonathan Krolick to provide electrical service to the pavilion at Memorial Park for a cost not to exceed $15,000.

In other business, as a downtown improvement project moves forward on North Lehigh Avenue involving curb and sidewalk replacement, council approved contacting property owners who either have to replace or remove basement doors or that driveways on the east side of the road without PennDOT permits will be removed.
