Frackville man faces nearly four dozen child pornography charges

FRACKVILLE – A Frackville man is free on bail as he faces 45 felony counts of possession of child pornography.
Garry Lipshaw, 67, of West Laurel Street, was arrested and arraigned last Friday on those charges and a felony count of criminal use of a communications facility.
According to the criminal complaint filed by Special Agent Caitlin Smith of the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office, authorities received a tip of an image uploaded to Bing in August 2024.
The image showed a girl around 6 years old posing nude. An IP address was provided which traced to PenTeleData, who identified Lipshaw as the customer associated with that address following a subpoena issued in January.
Authorities executed a search warrant on Lipshaw’s home Friday morning and interviewed Lipshaw, who said he had child pornography on a portable hard drive. He told authorities that he would search for such images on Bing for “sexual gratification” and had done so for the past few years.
On the hard drive, authorities found 45 videos showing young children having indecent contact with each other.
He was arraigned Friday and briefly committed to Schuylkill County Prison on $100,000 bail. Bail was posted later that day by a York bondsman.
A preliminary hearing is set for March 5.
