Frackville FD called for cat, woman stuck in tree
FRACKVILLE – First responders in this community received an unusual call to service Sunday evening.
Just before 9:30pm, Frackville Fire was dispatched to the unit block of South Lehigh Street.
Dispatched as a Special Assignment, Fire Chief William Lindenmuth was first to respond, and was briefed on the situation via radio.
County dispatchers told him a cat was stuck in a tree behind Lewie’s Restaurant. A woman had gone up into the tree to get the feline, and became stuck herself.
Frackville’s Ladder 43-20 responded shortly thereafter.
Lindenmuth told the Sentinel at the scene that the woman had found her way down before their arrival, and they helped bring the feline down.
Both the woman and feline were unharmed, and fire crews were clear of the scene within about 15 minutes.
