Four displaced by Heights kitchen fire

SHENANDOAH HEIGHTS – Four people were temporarily displaced after a kitchen fire in this West Mahanoy Township village.

Firefighters were called to the 200 block of California Avenue for a structure fire just after 2:30pm Sunday.

Shenandoah Heights firefighters said a stove caught fire at 278 California Avenue and fire damage to the home was contained to the kitchen.

The home also sustained smoke damage throughout.

Four people were displaced and assisted by the American Red Cross.

No injuries were reported.

Heights firefighters were assisted by crews from Shenandoah, William Penn, Altamont, Mahanoy City, and Englewood.
