For National Pierogy Day, Mrs. T’s asks: would you add a “y” to your name for $10k?
SHENANDOAH – Would you add a “y” to your name if you had a chance to win $10k? Shenandoah-based Mrs. T’s Pierogies, which spells the singular of the culinary staple with a “y,” is asking folks to pledge to add the letter to their name in celebration of National Pierogy Day.
The contest starts today, Oct. 1 and, along with the $10,000, exclusive merchandise and bragging rights as Mrs. T’s MVP, which they say stands for Most Valuable Pierogy-Lover, are up for grabs.
“National Pierogy Day is our favorite time of year to celebrate the joy pierogies bring to mealtime,” said Alyssa Panzarella, Director of Marketing at Mrs. T’s Pierogies. “This year, we’re inviting our Pierogy Squad to embrace the ‘Y’ just like we do – whether it’s by having fun with their name, telling us why they love pierogies, sharing a one-of-a-kind pierogy pairing, or showcasing a unique talent or trait. We can’t wait to see how our Pierogy Squad makes this celebration their own.”
Thirty lucky folks will receive a “Pierogy Prize Pack” with a sweatshirt and some other surprises.
To enter, visit Mrs. T’s Instagram page at @mrstspierogies and follow the instructions there.
As for changing your name, to win, you’ll have to pledge to add the letter to your name. Don’t run to the courthouse right away.
National Pierogy Day is Oct. 8, the anniversary of Ted Twardzik’s first sale of pierogies to the Capitol Food Store, then located in downtown Shenandoah.
