Flooding prompts electrical fire report at high rise
SHENANDOAH – A water issue prompted an electrical fire report at the Shenandoah High Rise downtown early Saturday.
Firefighters were called to the high rise at South Main and West Oak Streets just before 1:00am for a reported electrical fire inside.
Fire officials said the report came because water overflowed and came down through the floors, creating electrical issues.
“There was no fire at all,” said Assistant Chief Rick Examitas. “The situation is under control.”
Firefighters from Shenandoah’s Rescue Hook and Ladder, Columbia, and Phoenix Fire Companies responded along with Mahanoy City’s West End Fire Co., Shenandoah Ambulance, and Shenandoah Police.
