Flames destroy Pitman barn

PITMAN – A barn is destroyed after a fire in this Eldred Township village.

Flames broke out at a barn at 2017 Creek Road in Pitman around 4:00pm.

When firefighters first arrived, the barn was fully-involved, and a tanker task force was requested, bringing crews from Schuylkill, Dauphin, and Northumberland Counties to the scene.

The fire was brought under control in short order, and the Dauphin units were cancelled.

Fire officials told the Sentinel no one was hurt in the fire and that the animals that were in the barn got out safely.

Firefighters from Pitman, Hegins Valley, Englewood, Klingerstown, Sacramento, East Cameron Township, Pine Grove, Lavelle, and more responded to the scene.
