Firefighters tackle brush fire in Columbia

BEAVER TOWNSHIP, Columbia County – Nuremberg-Weston firefighters joined crews from southern Columbia County in battling a brush fire near Rock Glen and Mountain Grove Friday afternoon.
Crews were called to 873 Mountain Road in Beaver Township, near the Black Creek Township line, for a brush fire endangering a structure.

Firefighters from Beaver Township, Main Township, Mifflinville, Catawissa, and Nuremberg were among the crews dispatched, as well as Sugarloaf Township Ambulance.
The fire was brought under control within about an hour and a half.
No injuries were reported, and it it not clear as of late Friday afternoon if a structure was damaged.
