Firefighters battling cabin fire in Brandonville

BRANDONVILLE – Firefighters from across northern Schuylkill are battling a cabin fire in the hills above the village at this hour.

Crews were called to the area of Dombrowski Lane just before 9:00pm for reports of a house fire.

Heavy fire could be seen north of Brandonville from as far as Locust Mountain and the Ringtown area as units responded.

Arriving firefighters from Sheppton-Oneida, Nuremberg-Weston, Ringtown, and other northern Schuylkill communities found the fire was north of Foose Lane, a cabin in the woods.

Shenandoah and Mahanoy City firefighters were cleared from the call, while brush units from several communities remained and attempted to gain access to the fire.

Department of Conservation and Natural Resources firefighters, along with wildland firefighters from Llewellyn, Branch Township, were dispatched just after 9:30pm.

As of 10:00pm, firefighters remained at the scene.
