KAYLEE LINDENMUTH / SHENANDOAH SENTINEL - Firefighters work to contain a multi-vehicle fire in Ryan Township on Feb. 4, 2023.
BARNESVILLE – Multiple junk vehicles burned late Saturday afternoon in Ryan Township.
Firefighters from Barnesville, Delano, Hometown, and Mahanoy City were called to a property along Hillside Drive around 5:30pm after someone spotted a smoke column.
Multiple vehicles were found aflame on the property and first-arriving Barnesville firefighters requested tankers from Hometown and Mahanoy City for additional water.

The vehicles, most of which were roughly 30-year-old Chrysler Corporation-made vehicles, were among dozens of junked vehicles on the property.
No injuries were reported in the fire, and a cause was not known.
Firefighters had the blaze contained within about an hour and no structures were threatened.
