Ferguson Street duplex damaged in fire

SHENANDOAH – Fire damaged a duplex on South Ferguson Street in town early Monday.
Firefighters were called around 3am for a smoke investigation in the 200 block of the alleyway.
Smoke was seen coming from a duplex at 228-230 South Ferguson and the call was upgraded to a house fire.

Firefighters from Shenandoah, Mahanoy City, and Frackville made quick work of the fire.
Crews also rescued a dog from the duplex.
Fire Chief Rick Examitas said the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
No injuries were reported and it is not clear how many people were displaced.
