Fatal crash under investigation in North Union Twp.

NORTH UNION TOWNSHIP – One passed away after a vehicle accident in North Union Township Wednesday evening.
The crash occurred around 8:00pm at the intersection of Cove Mountain Drive and Nuremberg Mountain Road, near Oneida, according to the State Police at Frackville.
According to troopers, Dominic Mott IV, 24, of Hazleton, Luzerne County, was travelling northbound on Nuremberg Mountain Road when he lost control of his 2013 Chevy Sonic in the rainy conditions.
The vehicle exited the left side of the roadway, struck several large rocks, and flipped multiple times, during which a rear-seat passenger was ejected. The vehicle came to a final rest on the left side berm.
The ejected passenger was pronounced dead at the scene by Schuylkill County Deputy Coroner David Truskowsky, and their name is being withheld until family is notified.
Mott was transported by an APTS Ambulance to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital in Wilkes-Barre for treatment of injuries, and a front seat passenger, Ceara Correia-Fitzgerald, 20 of Hazleton, was also transported via EMS.
Assisting at the scene was the PSP Troop L Accident Reconstruction Unit and Forensic Services Unit, East Union Township Police, Sheppton-Oneida Fire, and Nuremberg-Weston Fire.
The roadway was closed until just after midnight while emergency personnel investigated, and the incident is still under investigation, according to troopers.
