HAZLETON – The Hazleton Area School District is bringing back English classes for parents.
The initiative, the district says, ahs long served as a resource for parents looking to strengthen their language skills and actively support their children’s education.
“This program is about more than just learning a language—it’s about building stronger connections between home and school,” said Dr. Brian Uplinger, Superintendent of Schools. “By giving parents the tools to communicate and participate more fully in their children’s education, we’re strengthening our entire school community.”
The return of the program, the district said, has been met with enthusiasm from families.
As an added support, the district is also providing free childcare during class sessions—removing a significant barrier and making it easier for parents to attend and participate.
In addition to weekly language instruction, ESL teachers provide parents with practical tools and information to help them engage in their children’s academic journey at home.
The program’s ultimate goal is to empower parents to build a strong foundation in English and become confident advocates for their children’s success in school.
