MOREA – Need somewhere to responsibly get rid of that old TV, VCR, computer, or barbeque grill? The Northern Schuylkill Council of Governments is providing just that on July 20, when they will host an Electronic and Metal Recycling Day.
The event, held in conjunction with the boroughs of Shenandoah, Ashland, Mahanoy City, Girardville, Gordon, and Butler, Delano, Mahanoy, Ryan, Schuylkill, and West Mahanoy Townships, will take place on July 20 from 8am to 1pm at the Skytop Coal Company, 547 Morea Road.
The event is rain or shine.
“We wanted to give our residents the opportunity to dispose of electronic items in a safe, legal manner,” said NSCOG Chairman Champ Holman, “It’s become increasingly difficult to dispose of some items, television in particular, so this will be a great opportunity for people to get rid of many types of unwanted items for a nominal fee.”
Fees for specific items apply, and a proof of residency is required for those who live in the participating municipalities. Non-residents will have to pay an additional $10 fee.
