ELECTION 2025: Mummey declares victory in East Union supervisors primary

SHEPPTON – East Union Township Supervisors Chairman Kyle Mummey declared victory Tuesday night as preliminary results showed the one-term supervisor up two-to-one over challenger Stefan Gerneth.
“I want to first congratulate Stefan Gerneth for running a strong campaign,” Mummey said in a statement. “Our campaign — our movement — showed up today at the polls. To the hundreds of supporters who I spoke with today, I thank you.”

“The silent majority stands with Mummey,” he added.
He was first elected supervisor in 2019, ousting incumbent John Biros.
As of the 9:39pm update from the Schuylkill County Election Bureau, Mummey had 222 votes to Gerneth’s 107.
No Democrat is filed to run and 40 write-in votes were cast in the Democratic primary.
