Martin survives write-in challenge, re-elected to West Mahanoy supervisors

SHENANDOAH HEIGHTS – A write-in campaign to oust West Mahanoy Township Supervisors Chairman Paul ‘Pepper’ Martin came up well short Tuesday evening.

Martin handily earned a re-election bid with 426 votes in Tuesday’s election for the 6-year supervisor seat.

He was the only candidate on the ballot.

Ex-Police Chief Marvin Livergood mounted a write-in campaign late and 107 write-in votes were cast in Tuesday’s election.

Tony Gladski won his re-election bid for the 2-year seat with 533 votes to 31 write-ins.
