Eight Devils make Schuylkill League All-Star teams

KAYLEE LINDENMUTH / SHENANDOAH SENTINEL FILE - The Shenandoah Valley Blue Devils soccer team rallies the crowd after a win.

SHENANDOAH – Eight members of the Shenandoah Valley boys soccer team were named to the Schuylkill League Division II All-Star teams.

The Blue Devils were undefeated in Division II play this year, winning the division title in the program’s first year in the league.

Sam Mentusky and Ayden Zamudio were named to the Division II All-Star First Team as forwards.

At midfield, Joan Menjivar was recognized.

In the backfield, Johnny Burke, Dante Garcia and goalkeeper Caleb Campos were all named to the first team.

More Blue Devils made the second team: Antonio Ruiz in midfield and Dillon Teter in the backfield.

No Shenandoah Valley girls were recognized.

In Division I Boys, North Schuylkill Head Coach Jarrid Todd was named 2A Coach of the Year and one of his players made the Division I first team: Brady Welker at Forward.

On the second team, Gage Reidler (F), Max Helwig (M), Fabrizio Jeanluc Manganiello (D), Logan Walacavage (G).

In Division I Girls, North Schuylkill Coach Clint Warner was named Coach of the Year and Lilah Helwig was selected All-State.

She was also a first-team All-Star midfielder for the Spartans.

Other Spartans named to the first team were: Addisyn Balicki (F), Adelaide Urban (M), and Marley White (D).

Cecelia Rau and Abrielle Klingerman were named to the second team.
