DUI, drug charges pending against Philly man after traffic stop

MOUNT CARMEL, Northumberland County – Charges are pending against a Philadelphia man, accused of driving under the influence of marijuana.
State Police at Stonington said they stopped 34-year-old Brysel Scott around 10:00am on Sept 4 in the 400 block of South Hickory Street in Mount Carmel.
Troopers said they stopped the man for having a left rear brake light out and a reported insurance cancellation tied to the license plate.
Troopers were encountered with an odor of marijuana when they approached Scott, and a subsequent search found marijuana and paraphernalia.
Scott was taken to Geisinger Shamokin Hospital for a blood draw under suspicion of DUI.
