Driver escapes injury, destroys utility pole in Ashland crash

ASHLAND – A woman was uninjured after she struck a utility pole in an Ashland alleyway Thursday night.
The crash happened just before 9:00pm on 14th Street near Walnut Street.
Ashland Fire Chief Phil Groody told the Sentinel at the scene an unidentified woman driving a Dodge SUV came off of Spruce Street onto 14th and struck the pole while travelling northbound.

She was unharmed, Groody said, but the pole suffered severe damage.
Firefighters from Ashland’s American Hose Co. and Washington Ambulance responded to the scene along with Ashland Police.
A & F Automotive, Lavelle, removed the vehicle.
