Dollar General destroyed by fire; Gold Star closed southbound from Herald Road
KAYLEE LINDENMUTH / SHENANDOAH SENTINEL - Thick, black smoke is seen coming from the Gold Star Plaza Dollar General on April 3, 2023.
TURKEY RUN – Firefighters from across the region are at the Dollar General at the Gold Star Plaza for a multi-alarm fire at this hour.
Crews have been there since 4:00pm.
Light smoke could be seen coming from the building as Shenandoah firefighters arrived, which progressively darkened as the firefight continued.
A second alarm was struck and a tanker task force was requested to the scene.
The cause of the fire is not known and crews are still at the scene.
The Gold Star Highway southbound from Herald Road to Gilberton is closed at this hour.
No injuries have been reported at this time.
