Daring duckling rescue on Girard Avenue

SHENANDOAH – Some borough workers came to the rescue of ducklings trapped in the storm sewer Friday.

The ducklings followed their mother over a storm drain Friday morning on Girard Avenue in the borough and, while the mom had no problem getting across, her 10 ducklings fell in.

Several borough workers removed the storm drain and freed the ducks, reuniting the family as they wandered into the Locust Mountain woodlands.
