Custody exchange involving Mahanoy woman ends with shooting at Humboldt Turkey Hill
HUMBOLDT – A man was shot and taken to a Lehigh County hospital after a dispute broke out during a custody exchange at the Turkey Hill near this Hazle Township village.
State Police at Hazleton said the shooting happened around 5pm at the Turkey Hill at 70 Station Circle.
Troopers said Rushettia Natane Wilson, 31, of Mahanoy City, was exchanging custody of her four-year-old daughter with Joseph Fabio Feliciano, 30, of Effort.
A dispute ensued and, at some point, a shot was fired from a pistol, striking Feliciano in the leg.
He fled with the child to West Hazleton, where borough police arrived and Feliciano was taken by ambulance to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, troopers said, though he was later taken to Lehigh Valley-Cedar Crest.
Troopers are asking anyone witnesses or anyone with information to call them at 570-459-3890.
No charges have been filed, and the investigation is active and ongoing, troopers said.
