POTTSVILLE – After weather nixed the initial attempt, Schuylkill County will kick off Pennsylvania’s celebration of our nation’s 250th Anniversary this week.
The celebration was initially planned as part of a 67-county tour on a very snowy Sunday, Jan. 18.
It was one of several stops on the tour cancelled due to weather.
It is now set for Thursday, Feb. 5 at 10a, at the county courthouse.
“This celebration is for everyone in our community, to reflect on our past and to spark excitement for the future,” said Gary Hess, Schuylkill County Commissioner. “We welcome all residents and visitors to be part of this historic kick-off.”
America250PA representatives will have opening remarks and offer information about their activities while county and state officials will also offer a few words and info on county and community activities.
Attendees are asked to RSVP.
