County finally moving to yellow phase
HARRISBURG, Dauphin County – Schuylkill County is finally moving to the yellow phase of Governor Tom Wolf’s process to reopen the Commonwealth.
Wolf announced the move in a press conference Friday afternoon. Schuylkill, along with neighboring Dauphin, Lebanon, and Luzerne, will move to the yellow phase on May 29.
“We are able to move forward like this because Pennsylvanians made tremendous sacrifices since the virus emerged,” Wolf said on Twitter.
Under the yellow phase, the stay-at-home order is lifted, though gatherings of 25 or more people are prohibited, and certain businesses must remain closed, such as gyms, hair salons, and casinos.
The first set of counties moving to the green phase were also announced today, which included primarily small and rural counties, such as Elk, Forest, Sullivan, and Montour.
