Centre Street paving moving ahead of schedule; East Centre milling to be done Wednesday

KAYLEE LINDENMUTH / SHENANDOAH SENTINEL - A road work sign is seen on West Centre Street on July 9, 2024.

SHENANDOAH – The project to repave the travel lanes of Centre Street through Shenandoah is moving faster than anticipated.

Milling began on the west end of town near the Shenandoah Valley School District campus and crews had completed the entirety of West Centre Street by the afternoon.

That was expected to take two days and borough police announced new parking restrictions as a result, to allow for milling on East Centre.

Parking is prohibited on East Centre from 7am to 4pm Wednesday and Friday, and on West Centre from 7am to 4pm Thursday.

Borough Police say the project should be done by the end of the week, weather permitting.
