Carbon County man killed in crash near McAdoo; witnesses sought

HADDOCK – A Lansford man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon in Kline Township.

Thairen Finley, 51, of Lansford, was identified as the victim by State Police at Frackville.

According to troopers, the crash happened around 4pm on Route 309 south of the Interstate 81 ramp.

Troopers said Finley was headed north on Route 309 merging onto the I-81 ramp when a 2017 Ram truck, driven by Lucas Forker, 46, of Tresckow, headed southbound, crossed the median and both northbound lanes, striking Finley’s Chevrolet Equinox head-on.

Finley was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.

Forker was taken to a Lehigh County hospital with serious injuries.

First responders from McAdoo, Hometown, Hazle Township, and Lehighton responded.

Troopers are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash to call them at 570-874-5300.
