GIRARDVILLE – Two were transported to a Pottsville hospital after their sedan struck a parked truck and a church in a Girardville alleyway Saturday afternoon.

The crash occurred just after 12:30pm Saturday, when authorities at the scene said a red Chevy Malibu clipped a curb at the corner of 2nd and ‘C’ Streets, then struck a parked Toyota Tundra and the side wall of St. Vincent De Paul church, where it came to a rest.

The two occupants of the Chevy Malibu, whose identities were not released at the scene, were transported to a Pottsville hospital by Frackville Ambulance. Authorities could not comment on the extent of their injuries, if any.

The Chevy suffered signficant damage to the front end, and air bags deployed in the vehicle.

The parked Toyota had damage to the left rear bumper.

Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville are investigating the crash. Assisting at the scene were crews from the Rangers Fire Company in Girardville and Girardville Fire Police.
