Butler Township Police handle reported bomb threat at convenience store
BUTLER TOWNSHIP, Luzerne County – Police in Butler Township, Luzerne County said they handled a bomb threat in the township Thursday.
The report to police came in around 2:30pm Thursday after a customer leaving a convenience store made a remark implying the presence of a bomb in the store.
Butler Township Police said there was no credible basis to the threat report and withheld the store’s name “to protect security and prevent copycat incidents.
Valley Regional Fire and Luzerne County EMA were on standby while police investigated.
