Burn ban in place in Conyngham Township
ARISTES – An area municipality is prohibiting outdoor burning for the next month due to the ongoing dry weather.
Conyngham Township, in cooperation with the Aristes Fire Co. and Wilburton Hose Co., enacted a burn ban for the next 30 days.
The Aristes Fire Co. says it is in response to extremely dry conditions and no notable rainfall predicted for the next two weeks.
The region has seen high fire danger and multiple brush fires, with outdoor burning being a leading cause, they said.
“Please refrain from any outdoor burning until after the burn ban has been lifted and conditions become more conducive to safety burning outside,” they said.
