Brooklyn man accused of driving truck drunk at Humboldt Amazon
HAZLE TWP., Luzerne County – A Brooklyn man is facing charges after state troopers say he drove a tractor trailer drunk and nearly hit two people at the Amazon Distribution Center on May 1.
State Police at Hazleton released details on the incident Thursday, saying they were dispatched to the warehouse on Oak Ridge Road around midnight that day.
Troopers found a man, Henry Skowron, 53, of Brooklyn, NY, inside the cab of a truck and attempted to get him out.
He resisted arrest and engaged in an altercation with troopers.
Troopers eventually brought Skowron into custody.
They say Skowron nearly hit two Amazon employees in the facility’s dock yard before their arrival.
Skowron was charged with reckless endangerment, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and obstructing law enforcement and taken to Luzerne County Prison. He posted 10% of $25,000 bail on May 1 and a preliminary hearing is set for June 24 at Luzerne County Central Court.
