Boyer’s to Chamber: Shenandoah location not closing
SHENANDOAH – Boyer’s Food Markets, the remaining full-service supermarket in Shenandoah proper, told the Greater Shenandoah Area Chamber of Commerce they are not closing, despite rumors floating around town.
Steve Toth, manager of the Shenandoah location, attended Thursday’s chamber of commerce meeting at the Shenandoah Senior Living Community.
Toth said the store on West Centre Street — the former A&P and IGA, a grocery mainstay of Shenandoah — is here to stay.
He said the Orwigsburg-based chain is changing supplies and the store needs to be retagged, which will take some time.
In other business, the chamber discussed the downtown Christmas light program and the veterans banner program.
