Borough Police: Roaming dog attacks woman, her dog, is shot by neighbor
SHENANDOAH – Borough Police are investigating an incident in which a roaming dog attacked a woman and her dog, prompting a neighbor to come to her aid.
Police said they were called to the area of Jardin and Oak Streets around 9:30pm for a report of shots fired.
Officers found that an unsupervised roaming dog attacked a woman and her dog. A neighbor who witnessed the incident fired a single shot at the attacking canine.
That canine was wounded and taken to an emergency animal hospital.
Police are investigating and say the incident is isolated and there is no threat to residents.
Police were clear of the scene by 10pm.
