Borough police officer promoted to captain

SHENANDOAH – A Shenandoah police officer was promoted to captain at Monday night’s borough council meeting.
Council approved the promotion of Travis Bowman to the rank, the second-highest in the Shenandoah Police Department, by a vote of 5-0.
Bowman previously served as lieutenant and replaces the retired David Stamets as captain.
He was hired as a full-time patrolman in 2018, according to Sentinel archives, and was a part-time patrolman prior to that. He has been with the department for at least ten years.
