Borough police investigating car fire on W. Poplar

SHENANDOAH – Shenandoah Police are investigating a car fire on the southside late Monday.
Firefighters were called to South Jardin and West Poplar Streets at 11:46pm for the fire.
Borough police arrived on scene first, finding smoke pouring out of a Honda Civic coupe.

As firefighters from the Rescue Hook and Ladder, Phoenix, and Columbia fire companies were stretching handlines, flames began to roll across the roof of the car.
Firefighters busted a window of the car and quickly extinguished the flames.
Asst. Chief Rick Examitas said police are investigating the incident.

The vehicle was towed by Steve’s Towing.
Also responding was Shenandoah Ambulance.
