Borough firefighters back at United Wiping Cloth for rekindle

SHENANDOAH – Shenandoah firefighters are back at the scene of the United Wiping Cloth Co. fire once again.
The factory-turned-apartments at 125 East Lloyd has been smoldering since Friday. Crews were called back to the scene just before 6:30pm Sunday for a rekindle.
Two engines — Columbia and Defender — responded to the scene and are currently operating with a single attack line stretched.
It isn’t the first time fire apparatus has been back to the scene since the original firefight ended. Saturday morning, crews responded for a rekindle as well.
At the time of publication firefighters remained at the scene.
