Borough approves tentative budget, hopes to hold line on taxes
SHENANDOAH – Borough Council approved the tentative 2023 budget Monday night and, as of now, no tax increase is included.
The 2023 general budget is $2,179,704 and the sewer budget is at $1,125,899, Tony Sajone, borough manager, said Monday.
“So far, it looks like we’re going to be able to hold the line with taxes,” Sajone said. “We’ll try our best to keep it within the limits without raising taxes.”
Council also approved the non-uniform employee contract for 2023-2025, which includes a $0.60 per year raise for borough employees. Sajone said the contract covers full-time workers in the Streets, Sewer, and Sanitation departments, along with the borough secretaries.
In other business, council approved two handicap parking requests in the 200 block of South Jardin.
