Boctor named SV Student of the Month for October
SHENANDOAH – John Boctor has been named Shenandoah Valley High School’s October Student of the Month.
Boctor, of Shenandoah, is highly active in his church, where he has helped install chair lifts, manage their stand in a festival, Operation Christmas, and much more.
He is president of Aevidum at school where he has organized numerous events and giveaways to boost student morale, raised over $2500 to sponsor events and giveaways, and aided students through mentally straining times.
Boctor is also class president, student council president, and National Honor Society president, where he has helped schedule and supervise events, fundraised, and serve as a good example for underclassmen to follow.
As an athlete, he is a varsity member of the Track and Field team, Cross Country team, and Soccer team. He is captain of the academic bowl team as well.
Boctor says he has a passion for learning and says religion has been a crucial part of his life.
“Most of the values that have formed the person I am today came from my Christian background,” Boctor wrote in his background provided by the school district. “I was taught to be grateful in every aspect of life, even the most minor things like the ability to see, feel, or even breathe.”
His future plans include to work in the field of business and live “in a big city that can provide me with many opportunities to work and make a good salary.”
“Above all, I want to be happy and surrounded by loved ones,” Boctor said.
