Bloomsburg man killed in Route 339 motorcycle crash
MAINVILLE – A 19-year-old Bloomsburg man was killed in a motorcycle crash Saturday afternoon.
The crash happened around 4pm on Mainville Drive — Route 339 — in Main Township.
According to the State Police at Bloomsburg, Robert Halye, 19, of Bloomsburg, was headed south on Route 339 on a 2024 Kawaski Ninja 500.
Troopers said he lost control in a sweeping right-hand corner, slid into the northbound lane where a 2018 Ford Edge was travelling.
The SUV struck the bike, throwing Halye from the motorcycle.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a helmet, troopers said.
Route 339 in both directions was closed for about two and a half hours, troopers said.
Main Township firefighters assisted at the scene.
