Black Creek implements burn ban amidst dry weather

KAYLEE LINDENMUTH / SHENANDOAH SENTINEL - Flames can be seen burning a tree, surrounded by charred ground, at the scene of a brush fire in North Union Township on Feb. 15, 2023.

ROCK GLEN – Another area municipality has temporarily banned outdoor burning.

Black Creek Township enacted a burn ban beginning Monday thorough the next seven days.

The Nuremberg-Weston Fire Co. says the ban was put in place because of the extremely dry conditions and high wildfire danger.

Depending on rainfall, the ban could be extended or left to expire.

Conyngham Township has already enacted a temporary burn ban and communities like Shenandoah and West Mahanoy Township have permanent burn ban ordinances already on the books.
