Birthday parade celebrates Bernie Chupasko’s 90th

GIRARDVILLE – For decades, she was the face of Tony’s Lunch in Girardville, and today, her 90th birthday was celebrated by a community effort.
Dozens of vehicles, led by Girardville Police and the borough’s two fire companies, paraded past Bernie Chupasko’s house on West Mahanoy Street.
Chupasko stood on her porch and waved as passersby provided birthday wishes.
According to WNEP-TV, Chupasko worked at Tony’s Lunch from when she was 12 through the end of 2014, when she retired.
